Boards
are inspected for soldering quality, part orientation, and population. Part
values are also checked on parts that have distinctive markings. This reduces
the amount of manual inspection required and ensures better quality and
consistency from board to board.
The inspection is performed using a bench top AOI system, which gives us
some unique advantages over conventional in-line systems. The programming
is very quick so it is cost-effective both in small and large runs. Conventional
in-line systems can take several weeks to program and fine tune. Our typical
time required to program up a board is in the days not weeks time span.
